2007 ROYAL TOKAJI ASZU 5 PUTTONYOS
"Sweet, with luscious apricot, peach compote and golden raisin held up by a well of latent acidity that drives the spice, chalk and candied lemon zest notes on the long finish. Drink now through 2020." Wine Spectator 92 points
|Battlegrounds, volcanic hills, labyrinthine tunnels, wine for czars, popes and royalty. The history of Tokaji spans eight centuries, from glory to obscurity through a second, and now a third, renaissance. In 1703 the Prince of Transylvania gave Louis XIV of France a gift of Tokaji. The wine was served at the Court of Versailles, where it was proclaimed the "Wine of Kings, King of Wines".
