SINEANN WINERY
2010 SINEANN PINOT NOIR OREGON
"Considerably more harmonious than – and without a slightly rancid expression of oak I found in – its 2009 counterpart, Rosback’s basic, “Oregon” 2010 Pinot Noir, sourced from several sites in the Willamette as well as a couple in the Columbia Gorge, evinces a black tea smoke- and resinous herb-tinged nose that mingles with red fruits in a manner reminiscent of how Southern French reds evoke marjoram-rich garrigue. There is a faint suggestion of fish oil that might be off-putting to some. Juicy cherry and raspberry are tinged with the bitterness and crunch of pits and seeds as well as with the aforementioned smoky tea and pungent herbs. This finishes with downright refreshing stimulation if also slight rusticity of tannin, notwithstanding which I would be inclined to drink it over the next 2-3 years." David Schildknecht 88 points

| Welcome to the Sineann! We are a small producer of highly intense wine in Yamhill County, Oregon.
We source our fruit from some of the best vineyards in our region; Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from the Willamette Valley and the Hood River Valley, Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel from the Columbia Valley, Gewurztraminer from the Willamette Valley and the Columbia Gorge.
Our growers have great pride in the grapes they provide us. Almost all our wines are vineyard designated. No expense is spared in our pursuit of great wine. Crop levels are kept very low, one to three tons per acre.
Winemaking is meticulous. All fruit is hand sorted, delicately destemmed, punched down by hand, gently pressed and gravity racked. The wines are aged in new and one year old French oak.
The bottom line is, we strive to make great wine. It's the only kind of wine that makes it onto our dinner table. It's exciting to make and gratifying to share. We believe that food and drink, lovingly prepared, make for happier and healthier people. |
