2012 HARDIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON<p>
"A knock-out Napa Cabernet Sauvignon for this price, this cuvee was first produced in 2005. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot) was aged 16 months in French oak, about two-thirds new. It offers a lot of flavor, personality and character for a $25 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep ruby/plum/purple color is followed by notes of black currants, licorice and tobacco leaf intermixed with subtle oak. With a good texture as well as a soft, round, expansive mouthfeel, this seductive red is best drunk over the next 2-3 years." Robert Parker Wine Advocate 88 points (2010 vintage)
The flavor profile of the wine mirrors the 2012 vintage with rich, complex, cassis and dark stone fruits layered with notes of green tobacco, mineral and spice. While powerful and concentrated, there’s ample acidity and tannin to balance the intensity of fruit. Without a doubt, one of the best Hardin Cabernets we’ve produced!
