Wine Enthusiast 91 points - The 2010 Chianti Classico shows lovely depth and power in its expressive dark cherries, plums, spices, menthol and licorice. Clean veins of minerality give the wine its considerable focus and energy. This is an especially understated wine from Fonterutoli, but it works. A clean, vibrant finish of stone fruits, flowers and spices resonates on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
Wine Spectator 90 points - Notes of high-toned cherry, raspberry, graphite and sweet sawdust mark this sinewy red. Medium-bodied, turning graceful on the finish. Well-structured and long, with a spicy finish. Best from 2015 through 2025.—B.S.
