Chateau Simone Palette Rouge'05 2005 750
2005 CHATEAU SIMONE PALETTE ROUGE
Chateau Simone is in the appellation of Palette in Provence and the estate is the appellation. It covers jusT 100 acres of which 50 are planted to vine. The balance is pine forest.
The estate was planted in the 16th century by the Carmelite sisters and purchase by the Rougier family in the 17th century and is still run by that family today.
A blend primarly of Grenache and Mourvèdre with some Syrah, Cinsaut, and Carignan that produce a deep rich full bodied long lived wine with complex blackberry and cassis fruit flavors finishing with long deep tannins. This is Provence, but you think you are drinking Bordeaux. You have to taste it to believe it.
