DOMAINE HENRI PRUDHON et FILS
2010 PRUDHON PULIGNY MONTRACHET ENSEIGNERES
"An appealingly fresh, pure and classically elegant Puligny nose of acacia blossom, citrus and essence of pear is followed by notably rich but well-detailed and vibrant flavors that display an abundance of mouth coating dry extract before terminating in an energetic and solidly persistent finish. This is really quite a lovely villages and worth a look. Outstanding." Allen Meadow's Burghound.com 89 points Drink 2016+
DOMAINE HENRI PRUDHON
Henri Prudhon and his wife Marguerite started the 35-acre domaine in the village of St. Aubin in 1945. Gerard, their son joined the family enterprise in the 1980s, expanded the family holdings in the neighboring villages of Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet and began bottling under their own label. The cellars of the domaine are quite cool allowing for extended fermentations and the wines are aged in 70 to 80 percent old French oak barrels
This parcel is almost 2.5 acres in size with one part planted to 30-year old vines and a second part planted to vines in excess of 80 years of age! A splendidly sited that sits just beneath the Grand Cru Bienvenues Batard Montrachet. This wine is aged in barrel (20% new oak) for 15 to 18 months before bottling.
