Nearly opaque, with intense aromas of dark red fruit, tobacco, flowers and licorice along with graphite and black fruit. Tightly wound tannins are accompanied by notes of espresso and spice box.
FOURNIER VINEYARDS 2005 FOURNIER TINTA DEL PAIS RIBERA DEL DUERO
"Licorice, mineral and sanguine notes frame a core of currant fruit in this firm, sinuous red. This is expressive and intense, but remains balanced and focused. Drink now through 2018." Tom Mathews Wine Spectator 93 points
|The fruit was cold soaked for seven days and gently crushed into stainless steel and cement vats for fermentation. After 30-40 days of post-fermentation maceration, the wine was aged in new French oak for 20 months.
