Steve Tanzer 89 points - The 2013 Sauvignon Blanc is from Tupungato and 20% of the wine is aged for three months in new French oak barrels. That goes completely unnoticed in the nose, which has subtle, restrained aromas closer to peach and nectarine with creaminess in the palate and high acidity. It is quite refreshing, without the herbal or exuberant tropical aromas of other Sauvignons. This is an impressive example from Argentina. Drink now.

MAPEMA VINEYARDS 2013 MAPEMA SAUVIGNON BLANC
"Pale yellow. Dusty lemon zest, grapefruit, fresh herbs and hints of honey and spices on the lively nose. Juicy and refreshing, offering good dusty grip and volume to the flavors of citrus fruits and underripe pineapple. Much more fruit intensity and ripeness here than in the 2012 version. Finishes with notes of grapefruit, raw pineapple and lemongrass and sneaky persistence. This was aged in 25% new oak (the rest in stainless steel) for three months but the wood element is quite subtle. An excellent value." Steve Tanzer International Wine Cellar 89 points
