MOUNT ROZIER WINERY 2012 MOUNT ROZIER SAUVIGNON BLANC
Lively with hints of lemon, yellow apples, and juicy honeydew melon with a finish of crisp livelyacidity
|The historic Mount Rozier Estate was established in 1896 by Annie Rozier, a local flower merchant. Annie used to grow her flowers on the hills surrounding the beautiful homestead. In time, these hills have been planted with vineyards which now produce some of the very best wines in the Western Cape.
This beautiful location is within the Helderberg Basin near Sir Lowry’s Pass and sits on the fabled ‘Schapenberg’ Terroir. The south facing slopes, overlooking False Bay, provide a long cool ripening period due to the constant breeze coming off the ocean. This cool microclimate coupled with gravely Hutton and Oak leaf soils has created a unique and exceptional viniculture opportunity.
This small area encompassing neighbors Vergelegen and Journeys End has started to draw comparison with some of the finest wines from Bordeaux. There is a consistent stream of exceptional wines emerging from the area.
