Wine Advocate 87 points - The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon also has 10% Merlot and 5% Syrah. It was aged for 14 months in 30% new French oak, the rest in a mixture of second and third use. It is listed at 15% alcohol. A bit livelier and tighter early on than its sibling, the Merlot also reviewed this issue, this initially projected an overlay of bell peppers, which receded into the whole as it aired out. I loved its precision and focus early on, though. It seemed tightly wound, with a nicely constructed mid-palate and a real backbone, if not a lot of mid-palate concentration. Initially, I liked this much better than the Merlot. Ultimately, as this thinned, I?d go for the Merlot. As with its Merlot sibling, though, this is a pretty nice buy that will initially make you think that you got a pretty good deal and a lot of wine for the price. One thing Ella Valley seems to do well is offer some bang for the buck. You could spend more and do worse. Drink now-2021.
