Burghound 91 points - The 2012 Chablis 1er Cru Vaudevey comes from a 5.5-hectare selection from Laroche?s 10 hectares holding and is always the last to be picked (here finishing on October 8) and it is raised in less than 20% used oak. It has a pleasant reduction on the nose, with fine mineralite coming through with aeration. The palate is very pretty with light orange peel and citrus notes, tensile toward the finish though dipping a little before the finish line. Drink now-2017.
DOMAINE LAROCHE 2012 LAROCHE CHABLIS VAUDEVEY
"There is ample Chablis character present on the green fruit, citrus and quinine-suffused nose. I like the intensity and frank style of the punchy medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of vibrancy on the clean, agreeably dry and lingering finish that stops just short of austerity. This is really quite good and while this has no pretensions of being as refined as the upper level wines in the range, it can match them for depth and overall "Chablisness" plus it sells for a good deal less. One to consider." Allen Meadows' Burghound.com 91 points Drink 2016-18
|The name Domaine Laroche is virtually synonymous with Chablis. With a history that dates back to 1850, when Victor Laroche purchased his first parcel of land in Chablis, the Laroche family has been dedicated to producing top-quality wines from the region for five generations. Michel Laroche, the great-great-grandson of Victor, joined the family business in 1967, and today remains at the helm. Under his stewardship, Laroche has become one of the most respected producers in Chablis and is one of its largest landholders of grand cru vineyards. Purity and quality are the heart of Michel’s winemaking philosophy as exhibited by the wines produced at Domaine Laroche.
