Vinous 89 points - (85% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Meunier; 7 g/l dosage; LZ57266DG09/13): Light yellow-gold. Pungent aromas of orange pith, dried apple and toasty lees, with a hint of chamomile in the background. Fleshy and broad on entry, then tighter in the middle, offering bitter pear skin and quinine flavors and a touch of blood orange. Finishes with good grip and cut, leaving a subtle smoky note behind.
Wine Spectator 95 points - This opens with truffle and forest floor aromas, but quickly goes in an entirely different direction. Like walking in a Turkish bazaar, this is laced with exotic spice notes of sandalwood, fennel seed and cardamom, featuring flavors of toasted brioche, Grand Marnier and dried currant, all framed by vibrant acidity and a fine, lightly zesty mousse. For fans of aged Champagne, this is a unique experience to relish. Disgorged October 2015. Drink now through 2021. From France.-A.N. (Aug 31 2016)
