Dark and deep red in color. Aromas of cassis and cherries mingle with complex mineral, tobacco and graphite notes. Concentrated with great structure. Red fruit flavors are enveloped by firm, ripe, round and elegant tannins and a long finish.
Wine Advocate 90 points - The lineup begins with the 2007 Terrunyo Syrah (which includes 12% Cabernet Sauvignon in its blend) in which the fruit was sourced from the Rucahue Vineyard in Rapel. The wine was aged for 15 months in 60% new French oak. The wine’s aromatics are reticent but in the glass it displays an elegant personality, spicy, peppery flavors, a smooth texture, and a lengthy, pure finish. It has the structure to evolve for several years so if the aromatics become more forthcoming, it will certainly merit a higher rating. (Feb 2012)
