This wine is a deep purple in color with intense violet highlights. Aromas of wild blueberries, black raspberries, blackberries, and black cherries combine with floral notes of violets and roses and hints of vanilla, coffee, and baking spices. Renacer is a rich and dense wine, bursting with flavors of ripe black raspberries, Bing cherries, and tart cranberries complemented by more subtle notes of vanilla, mocha, licorice, and tobacco. This lush wine is round and expansive in the mouth and the firm tannic structure leads to a lengthy finish of great depth.
Wine Spectator 91 points - Well-focused, with dark plum and blackberry reduction notes balanced against fresh acidity, toasty oak and moderate structure. The finish is long, with hints of smoke and baking spices. Malbec. Drink now through 2016. 275 cases made.

Renacer is Bodega Renacer”s icon wine and represents the finest and boldest expression of the Malbec grape in Argentina. Incredibly rich and complex, Renacer results from the talent and dedication of two great winemakers, Alberto Antonini and Eduardo Gabbarini, who blend grapes from selected parcels in the old vines Los Patos Vineyard. This limited-edition wine is aged for 24 months in French oak barrels and an additional 10 months in bottle before release.
98% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc
Through hundreds of years of trial-and-error experimentation, French winemakers have recognized that certain areas within a single vineyard produce grapes with different characteristics than other areas within that same vineyard. Thus, fruit from different sections within one vineyard, farmed the same way, harvested at the same time by the same method, and produced into wine with the same technique, can be dramatically different. The soils play a significant role in these differences for each unique terroir within a vineyard. Due to natural geological processes, soil properties can vary over distances as small as a few meters. Recognition of these small-scale variations within a vineyard can lead to wines that better reflect the terroir. Precision viticulture is an indispensable method to work the soil according to its true potential. Renacer determines these variations using digital maps obtained by Electromagnetic Conductivity Measures (ECM). The system registers 1,000 readings per hectare, which are then precisely stored and evaluated by computer and GPS to obtain their exact location within the vineyard. The result is a detailed map of the soil for precise vineyard optimization. This map allows Renacer to divide vineyards into homogeneous areas that are treated similarly in terms of irrigation and harvest time.
