Henry's Drive Vignerons was established by Kim Longbottom and her late husband Mark in Padthaway, South Australia. In 1992, they carefully selected sections of their properties for vine planting and released their first vintage in 1996. The winemaker is Renae Hirsch and Kim Jackson is the consulting winemaker. Renae, who follows former winemakers, Sarah and Sparky Marquis (Molly Dooker Wines) and Chris Ringland, brings over a decade of experience to her role, having held winemaking positions in France, Germany, the United States and Australia. The nearly 500 acres of vines are planted on limestone over sandy ridges and rich red loamy soil. Planted varieties include Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Verdelho.
