Ruby red color. A complete bouquet of cherry jam, sweet spices, licorice, coffee and cacao. Balanced in the mouth; spicy minerality and great persistence.
Wine Advocate 92 points - The 2007 Serpico is a relatively soft, delicate vintage of this wine. An open, floral bouquet leads to expressive red berries, licorice and spices, all of which meld together on a mid-weight frame. The wine gains a measure of depth and richness in the glass, but this remains a Serpico that emphasizes elegance over sheer power. The opulence of the fruit makes the 2007 approachable today, but the wine needs another few years in bottle to allow for its varietal character to emerge. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.”,,, (Aug 2010)
In the heart of the Taurasi zone, our centuries-old vines – “patriarchs” of Campanian viticulture – offer timeless emotions. Serpico is the expression of this unique territory.
|Excellent with roasted red meats, the finest poultry, game and aged cheeses.
|Feudi di San Gregorio, a modern expression of a centuries-old tradition of passion and dedication to the land, is Campania’s premier winemaking estate. Situated in the tiny village of Sorbo Serpico in Campania's Irpinia region, this highly-acclaimed winery was established in 1986. Since then, it has aggressively tapped into the enormous potential of Campania's unique terroir and ancient varieties by placing a contemporary spin on indigenous grapes such as Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Aglianico.
