A nose of creamy dark cherries, baking spices and ahint of toast and coffee. Sweet
and tart rhubarb, coupled with dark fruit on the front palate and minerality on the back. The tannins are focused and
intense, alongside bold acidity.
Wine Advocate 90 points - The 2008 Pepper Bridge Syrah (100%) was aged in 12% new oak, the rest seasoned oak. Smoked meat, game, pepper, lavender, and blueberry aromas are followed by a finesse-styled Syrah with ample tasty fruit, a bit of structure, and good length. It, too, will drink well through 2020. ” (Aug 2011)
Steve Tanzer 88 points - Medium ruby-red. Sexy, expressive aromas of dark cherry, gunflint, pepper and iron, complicated by floral and gamey nuances. Sweet but quite firm, with candied berry and cherry flavors firmed by an edge of acidity. Turns slightly tart and a bit unyielding on the finish (Nov 2010)
