Expression Wines was formed to explore the impact of latitude and terroir on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The winegrowing regions include the Santa Rita Hills (34º), the Sonoma Coast (38º), the Anderson Valley (39º) of California, and the Eola-Amity Hills (44º) of the Willamette Valley, Oregon. Founded by industry veterans William Hill and Dick Wollack. William has 30+ years of experience as a vintner and vineyard designer who has developed more than 40 high-end vineyards. Dick is co-founder of Premier Pacific Vineyards, one of the largest managers of high-end vineyards with properties in California (Santa Barbara, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Napa counties), Oregon and Washington. Joined by winemaker Richard Sowalsky, the group practices sustainable viticulture, rigorous triage and employs a minimalist approach in the cellar – all to allow a full and natural expression of the varietal, vintage and terroir.
