The Domaine Ogier Cote Rotie is produced from 70% Cote Blonde fruit and 30% Cote Brune fruit. Their vines are between 18-63 years old. As with all of Ogierís wines, this is a beautifully balanced Syrah loaded with rich black fruits and a smoky, spicy pallet. The texture is smooth and silky with a very long finish.
|This tiny estate, located in the village of Ampuis, consists of 15 acres (6 acres are within the Cote Rotie appellation). Prior to 1980, Michel, the father, sold off both his fruit and the wines he produced to the large negociant Marcel Guigal. Michel began to bottle his wines under his own label, and Bobbyís first vintage working with Domaine Ogier was 1988. Today, more than 20 years later, Stephane Ogier, his son, is in charge of the property. His youthful energy and passion for the vineyards and winemaking have resulted in the estateís rise to superstar status over the past ten years.
