Finca Pedernal represents the best of San Juan’s Malbec. A deep red wine with concentrated aromas of plums, cherries and raisins, plus coconut and toasty notes. Ripe fruit and gentle sweet tannins provide volume and a long finish in the mouth.
Wine Advocate 89 points - The 2007 Finca Pedernal Malbec is reticent on the nose at first, opening with aeration to reveal black currant, blueberry and orange blossom aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It is a feminine, silky smooth wine with sweet red berries towards the finish that just lacks the complexity I would seek at such a premium price. Still, this is a well-crafted Malbec. Drink now-2018. (Oct 2012)
