Wine Advocate 93 points - The 2010 Alta Vista Single Vineyard Serenade was planted on clay soil in 1965. The nose is a little darker in fruit than the Temis, with blackberry, blueberry and a touch of iodine. The palate is actually quite similar to the Temis vineyard but shows better grip and seems spicier on the finish. With a little more substance, this might age longer that the other single vineyard wines. Drink 2013-2028.  (Oct 2012)

Wine Spectator 92 points - A dense, plush red, exhibiting concentrated kirsch, plum sauce and blackberry compote flavors finely woven with layers of mesquite and mulled spices. Silky tannins frame the long, licorice-tinged finish. Drink now through 2017.—N.W. (Aug 22 2012)

Single Vineyard Serenade was introduced in 2001, making Alta Vista the first Argentine winery to produce single vineyard wines. Utilizing their tailored Terroir Management® system for wine growing and winemaking, Alta Vista uses grapes grown in distinctive sites to craft these unique wines that show the true characteristics of each vineyard. All Single Vineyard wines are aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels and an additional 6 months in bottle.
Producer
Alta Vista is a French family-owned winery that focuses on the production of high altitude, site-specific wines. The family’s winemaking knowledge and passion, together with its former ownership of the famous champagne house Piper-Heidsieck, provided the impetus to create a harmonious French-Argentine fusion. Years of research brought them to the top growing regions of Mendoza, an area best suited for the creation of terroir-expression wines.
