Vinous 91 points - (Lot 067412): Light, bright yellow. An assertively perfumed bouquet of red berries, orange zest, dusty minerals and fresh white flowers on the nose. Tangy redcurrant and citrus fruit flavors show a refreshingly bitter quality and a dusty mineral underpinning. Finishes with very good cut, length and lingering spiciness. I’d give this Champagne a couple years to unwind, or serve it with raw shellfish.
Wine Advocate 90 points - The 2006 Brut Grand Cru Cuvee Les Meslaines emerges from the glass with sweet red berries, hard candy, flowers and mint. Exotic and beguiling, the 2006 stands out for its ripe, racy personality and intensely perfumed finish. There is no shortage of character here. The Meslaines is 100% old-vine Pinot Noir (planted in 1953). Dosage was 8 grams per liter. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. (Nov 2012)
Wine Spectator 93 points - Shows lovely balance, with the lacy texture and vibrant acidity supporting flavors of white raspberry, white cherry, acacia blossom, toasted almond and smoke, accompanied by a hint of bread dough. Drink now through 2028.—A.N. (Jun 5 2013)
