Exhibits bright, lively red and black currant fruit, with bold spice and graphite notes on a medium-long finish.
Chateau Tour du Moulin is located in Fronsac, a subappellation of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Garonne River. In 1987 Vincent Dupuch and his mother, Madame Dupuch Josette, took ownership, revitalized the property and enlarged the estate to seventeen acres spread over 28 different parcels on a variety of soil types. The southern plots within the Riviere commune are planted on soils only a few inches deep over underground quarries. The plots bordering Saint- Aignan, Fronsac and Saillans villages are planted on limestone, clay and sand. The northern plots are planted in steeply sloped, centuries old stone terraces. The vineyards were planted to Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) and are sustainably farmed. Average age of the vines is 30 years. The fruit is hand-picked and destemmed prior to fermentation at controlled temperatures.
|The wine was aged for 23 months in one year old French oak barriques before bottling.
