Wine Spectator 89 points - A medium-bodied version, offering cherry, currant and earth flavors. The tannins are a touch dry, upsetting the overall balance. Shows intensity and length. Best from 2015 through 2021. 150 cases imported.-BS

Vinous 87 points - Good bright, deep red. Musky aromas of redcurrant, plum and tobacco. Juicy and firm on the palate, with the red berry and tobacco flavors supported by solid minerality. The tannins are a tad dry but essentially fine-grained. This vineyard suffered from the drought conditions during spring, noted Choppin de Janvry.

Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2011 Beaune 1er Cru Cents-Vignes has a pleasant, vanilla bouquet with plenty of plush red fruit: raspberry coulis and strawberry preserve. The oak feels nicely assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly herbaceous opening, however it is nicely focused with a touch of spice enlivening the structured finish. Give this Beaune another year in bottle to coalesce. Drink 2014-2019. (Oct 2013)
