This lush, elegant wine shows a ripe, refined fragrance of sweet red berry fruit offset by gentle earth and spice notes which are confirmed on the palate and long finish, underscored by supple yet focused tannins.
Vinous 88 points - Good bright, deep red. Discreet aromas and flavors of redcurrant, cherry and flowers accented by a whiff of green pepper. Juicy and energetic, offering both good breadth and a light touch. The most concentrated 2011 sample to this point, long and gripping on the back end, and offering enticing lingering perfume. Beaune was a very successful village in 2011, but tougher in 2010, noted Frederic Barnier.
