Vinous 91 points - (a 68/22/10 blend): Opaque ruby. Potent spice- and smoke-accented dark berries and cherry pit on the fragrant nose. Chewy and expansive, offering gently sweet blackcurrant and floral pastille flavors and suggestions of vanilla and mocha. Dusty tannins give structure and grip to the long, penetrating finish, which leaves smoky minerals and licorice behind.
Wine Spectator 91 points - Dark and brooding, with tarry, licorice-accented black fruit character. Plum and herb notes emerge from the maelstrom on the finish. Comes together pleasantly on successive sips. Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Malbec. Best from 2015 through 2019.—H.S. (May 14 2014)
