Wine Spectator 91 points - Sanguine, white pepper and iron notes flow from the start here, with supple cherry and red currant fruit at the core. Olive, bay and iron hints line the mouthwatering finish. A textbook old-school Cornas. Drink now through 2023. 150 cases imported.-JM

Vinous 89 points - Youthful purple. Intense aromas of cassis, cherry compote, violet, black olive and anise, with a strong smoky overtone. Deep, sappy and precise, offering energetic dark berry and floral pastille flavors and an emphatic note of olive tapenade. Gains sweetness and weight in the glass and finishes with impressive clarity and an echo of candied flowers.

Wine Advocate 89 points - More tannic and savory (and less successful), the 2011 Cornas Chante Perdrix offers plenty of spiced meat, dried herbs and forest floor nuances to go with medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. Enjoy it over the coming decade. (Dec 2013)
