Shiraz is a superb handcrafted wine of complexity and intensity. Deep garnet red in color, displaying complex aromas of blackberry, spice, plum and licorice that give way to a subtle integration of smoky, vanillin oak.The palate is full of fleshy dark cherry and bramble fruit with dark chocolate nuances and savory notes of leather and spice on the finish. This wine has excellent tannin structure and balanced acidity.
Wine Spectator 88 points - Supple, ripe and generous, with mint-accented black cherry and dark spice flavors. A troublesome meaty note intrudes on the finish. Drink now through 2018. 500 cases made.-HS  (Jun 15 2014)

Wine Advocate 89 points - Deep garnet with some purple in the rim, the 2010 Noble Baron Shiraz shows an evolving nose of prunes, dried mulberries and sandalwood with hints of leather and dusty earth along with a good amount of maturing blackberry and spice flavors on the medium to full-bodied palate that are supported by medium levels of chewy tannins. It finishes long. Drink it now to 2017+. (May 2014)

On the heels of five successful years in New Zealand and high ratings by Wine Spectator, The Wall Street Journal and many Jewish and non-Jewish wine critics, Philip Jones sought to fill yet another void in the kosher wine marketplace. Together with his wife, Sheryl, and with cooperation from Royal Wine Corporation, the Jonesí established Evanís Vineyard and winery, located on Underwood Mountain, in the Columbia Gorge in Washington State. Unlike the New Zealand, facility the Washington winery will be a dedicated kosher winery. It has a capacity of about 7,000 cases. The plan is to start slowly with the inaugural vintage and produce about 2,500 cases from 2010, with plans to ramp up production as the brand becomes established. In 2006, Phillip and Sheryl purchased 95 acres on Underwood Mountain, across from Hood River, Oregon and established 25 acres of vineyards and our new winery. Along the river, at 1800 ft., the location was perfect for growing cool climate grapes and very close to some of Washingtonís best red wine vineyards. Evanís Vineyard, named after their youngest son, was born. In 2010, about the time they decided to make their first wines, economic conditions were warning them to be prudent. Many new wineries had opened their doors and competition was tough. A partnership.was formed. Evanís Vineyard would produce the wines and Royal would assist with bottling and marketing the wines. They would become the Northwestís first kosher winery and dedicate the entire production to kosher wines. The Pacifica label was born….with the first wines from 2010 to include an Oregon Pinot Noir, Washington Meritage and a Cabernet Sauvignon. Other varieties will follow once the proprietary vineyards are in production
