Steve Tanzer 94 points - Bright purple. Captivating, exotic aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, lavender and smoky Indian spices. Sweet, broad and lush, with dense black and blue fruit character complicated by flowers and spicecake. Finishes on an intense floral note, with fine-grained tannins adding shape and grip. Offers plenty of early appeal but I'd bury this one in the cellar for at least another five years.
Wine Advocate 95 points - Deep purple-black colored, the 2009 Aphrodite Cabernet Sauvignon displays a wonderfully floral / expressive nose with notes of lilacs and lavender over creme de cassis, crushed blueberries, anise, cedar, baker’s chocolate and cassia plus a whiff of dried leaves. Full bodied and opulently fruited in the mouth, it offers a good line of lively acid and a medium to firm level of fine tannins, finishing long and fruity. The vibrant, forward berry flavors make this wine a temptation to drink now, but it should open and marry nicely over the next 2-3 years and drink best 2014 to 2024. (Feb 2012)
Wine Spectator 93 points - Ripe and supple, this is juicy with black cherry and coffee flavors on a medium-weight frame, lingering impressively on the finish against a modicum of crunchy tannins. Offers layers of flavors and a long finish, promising a long future. Cabernet Sauvignon. Best
