Domaine Tollot-Beaut Corton Bressandes 2019
|Region||France, Burgundy, Cote de Beaune|
"A firm, tightly wound red, with black cherry, black currant, tar and mineral aromas and flavors wrapped in a compact structure. Racy, extending on the aftertaste with fruit, mineral and spice elements. This is intense and pretty much closed for now. Best from 2025 through 2048. 300 cases made." Bruce Sanderson Wine Spectator 96 points Drink 2024-48
The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is aged in 50% new oak, like the Premier Crus. It has a more perfumed bouquet, a little more cohesive, with darker fruit (black plum and black currant) and just a touch of India ink in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, quite tight and linear at the moment, but it shows a little more finesse on the finish than the Corton. Very fine.
