"The 2019 Barolo Mariondino is gorgeous. Broad and ample, the Mariondino impresses with its persistence and spherical feel. Black cherry, spice, lavender, menthol and dried flowers infuse the 2019 with striking depth. In 2019, the Mariondino is especially resonant and expansive, with striking depth and fine balance. Sandy soils and a cool micro-climate in this parcel yield a Barolo with tons of floral presence and a distinctive blood orange note that add freshness." Again, you get that ripe, raw fruit aroma from the 2015 Barolo Mariondino, with lots of plummy dark fruit and dried blackberry at the back. On the Parusso scale (one that always prizes intensity), this wine is mid-weight in approach, calling for something like a wild boar dish. There is also a note of sour cherry on the close.

The 2015 Barolo Mariondino is richer, deeper and more powerful than it usually is, with an extra kick of volume and sheer breadth. The floral notes that are typical of this cool site on sandy soils emerge over time, but the 2015 remains a big wine. Dark fruit, licorice, chocolate and spice add to the wine's potent feel. Readers should expect an unusually large-scaled Mariondino.

A savory style, exhibiting high-toned juniper, mint and leafy tobacco flavors. Slightly too tannic for the balance, at least for now. Best from 2022 through 2030. 100 cases made, 60 cases imported.
