A master of Chardonnay, Robert Brittan expresses the particular strengths of the estate vineyard here. A stony foundation supports the crisp mix of apple, pear and peach fruit. Though relatively low in finished alcohol, the fruit reaches the edges of tropical papaya and the acids are moderate and proportionate. The wine spent 10 months in one-quarter new French oak.

The 2019 Chardonnay Estate opens with pleasant matchstick reduction along with ripe aromas of orchard fruit, including peach, green apple, and lemon curd. It has a rich texture, with rounded fruit, orange peel, and warming baking spice. This is a wonderful ripe style of white that maintains freshness with a spine of acidity. Drink 2022-2032.
