Domaine Parent Corton Les Renardes 2020
"The 2020 Corton les Renardes Grand Cru has 100% whole bunch and aged entirely in new oak. The stems make quite an impression on the nose, just slightly occluding the terroir expression at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, quite austere on the entry, good depth and freshness with a spicy finish. Correct and with its tie tied up a bit too tight at the moment, gives this 4-6 years to loosen it." Neal Martin Vinous Media 91-93 points Drink 2026-45
The 2017 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru is 100% whole clusters with no foulage (breaking of the grape skins) as in 2015 and 2016. Anne Parent decided to wait three or four days to crush the grapes. Matured entirely in new oak, this has a crisp, pure bouquet that handles the new wood well, hints of brown spice tincturing the red berry fruit. The well-balanced palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin, and the smooth, harmonious, espresso-tinged finish fans out gently. Give this two or three years in bottle.
