The 2020 Mazoyeres-Chambertin Grand Cru contains 50% whole bunch and 50% new oak. This has a crystalline bouquet with shimmering black cherries and light cassis aromas, the underlying mineralite becoming more pronounced with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, fine acidity, taut and fresh with just the right undertow of spiciness on the finish. It just oozes class though it will require a cool damp cellar and a bit of patience.

Notes of cherries, red berries, warm spices and peonies introduce the 2020 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, ample and enveloping wine with a fleshy core of fruit that's framed by powdery tannins and lively acids, concluding with a saline finish. It's an attractive cuvée that will offer a broad drinking window.
