2019 GREYWACKE PINOT NOIR
"The 2019 Pinot Noir is an impressive, broody, rich wine with a smoky, meaty personality. There's a change to the maturation regimen in 2019, with élevage reduced from 18 to 12 months, but the wine spent its maturation time in high-toast Mercurey barrels, which have a strong personality. The depth of fruit carries the smoky bacon-like oak flavors and acts as a counterpoint to the sweet red cherry and floral notes. The finish is dry, savory and relatively robust. I rather like this for its "no guts, no glory" attitude. Best Greywacke Pinot yet? Probably." Rebecca Gibb Vinous Media 93 points Drink 2023-32
