Refined, with flavors of dark plum, dried blackberry, mineral and tar. This offers lively hints of dried mint, showing some cedary accents. Features impressive lift on the finish, accented by chocolate notes. Best from 2030 through 2060. 425 cases made.

A densely tannic wine, firm at the center and richly fruity on the outside. It is concentrated, with acidity shooting through the jammy black fruit. It's a finely structured wine, likely to age well, but showing its rich side already.

The Quinta de la Rosa 2011 has a relatively lighter, nevertheless well-defined, "light-hearted" bouquet that disguises its spirit well. The palate has a soft, rounded, viscous entry with kirsch, fresh prune and cassis all vying for attention. It lacquers the mouth but does not overpower, and its parting gift is a long sweet molasses-tinged finish. This is one of the more accessible declarations and a joy. Tasted May 2013.
