"Quite bold and forthright with ripe red and dark fruits on the nose and palate. Deep-set mulberry and plum fruits drive the finish. Dark chocolate, too. This has supple fruit flesh and also handy tannin definition. 72% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, 5% malbec and 3% cabernet franc. Drink or hold." James Suckling 94 points Drink 2023-27
Wine Advocate

A sensational wine from this estate, the 2014 Artist Series Meritage checks in as a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 3% Cabernet Franc. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by ripe, sexy notes of blackberries, cassis, smoked earth and hints of chocolate. Ripe, sweetly fruited, rounded and beautifully textured, with solid purity and finesse, it's already hard to resist but is going to keep for a decade.

Cabernet Sauvignon makes up 73% of this wine, along with 20% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc. Tightly wound aromas of wood spice, vanilla, black fruit, plum and coffee bean give way to full-bodied, palate-coating and concentrated cherry and espresso flavors that linger on the finish. The barrel influence is heavy, but it works.

Focused and a bit taut, with brooding dark berry and dried sage aromas and trim, smoky flavors. Firm tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Best after 2018.
