Chateau d'Esclans Garrus Rose 2020
|Region||France, Provence, Côtes de Provence|
"Extremely perfumed with dried peaches, passion fruit and some mineral elements. Ever so subtle. Full-bodied, yet so tight and focused, with a really long and vertical texture of fine tannins and beautiful fruit, as well as bright acidity. Drink or hold." James Suckling 95 points Drink 2022-25
The barrel-fermented 2020 Cotes de Provence Rose Garrus is another beautiful effort. A wine that has helped redefine Provence rosé, it's toasty and vanilla-laden, yet also balanced and successful, with notes of tangerine, peach, raspberry and lime in abundance. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and generous in feel, it finishes long, with echoes of allspice and citrus.
This is the cuvée that propelled Provence rosé into the fine wine world. Wood aged, with rich red fruits over serious spice and with great ripeness, the wine has weight and concentration. It is generous, full and ready to drink.
Offers a mix of lightly singed pie crust and shortbread flavors that provide a flattering textural component, while peach, Earl Grey tea and macadamia nut accents add to the showy persona. Grenache and Rolle. Drink now.
