The wine leads with a flowery nose of violet petals, red cherry, red currant and rosehip. The palate starts with red fruit and sees moments of tartness that dive into chalk-dusted cranberry on the floral finish. Pair with turkey burgers, panfried salmon and guacamole and chips

The 2022 Fleurie offers straightforward scents of raspberry and dark cherry on the nose, perhaps not quite delivering the amplitude of the best wines from this appellation in this vintage. The palate is fresh and crisp, sharp in terms of acidity. I find this rather pinched and metallic on the finish. Early-drinking fare.
