2018 HAMEL FAMILY NUNS CANYON
"The 2018 Nuns Canyon is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Cabernet Franc from Hamel Family's Nuns Canyon Vineyard, and it was matured for 20 months in 36% new French oak barrels. It takes significant time in the glass to begin to reveal its aromas of Morello cherries, thyme and cedar, but the palate is already wonderfully balanced. It boasts concentrated flavors, abundant, powdery tannins and refreshing acidity, with haunting graphite and floral character defining the long finish. This will require at least 3-5 years in bottle to begin to unwind." Erin Brooks Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 96+ points Drink 2024-40

An entirely varietal wine fermented in concrete, stainless steel and oak tanks, this is complex, structured and supremely earthy, with mineral traces throughout. Strawberry, cassis and vanilla provide a rich contrast to the cedar, sage and wisps of tobacco, the tannins powerfully present. Enjoy best from 2027 through 2037.

The 2017 Nuns Canyon is a classically styled Cabernet Sauvignon with great freshness and restraint without lacking any fruit. The nose has lush cassis cut through with notes of iron, dried herbs, flowers and bitter chocolate. The palate is full-bodied, its ripe fruit tempered by mineral streaks. It has finely detailed tannic structure and finishes with great freshness. 585 cases produced.

Vivid plum and boysenberry reduction notes stream through in this tantalizing wine, with a mineral streak buried deeply through the floral and fruit-filled finish. Very pure and fresh, despite the dark fruit profile. Drink now through 2027. 585 cases made.
